Good Afternoon All,
We first want to thank all of the residents and landowners along Northshore and Penrose who took the time to meet with our group this week to discuss the permanent reconstruction projects. We felt the discussions during our one-on-one meetings were very productive and hope you felt the same. We want to maintain these lines of communication open as we proceed through the final design, bidding and construction of this project. We encourage those residents who received easement documents to review those documents and reach out to our team if you have any questions. The sooner we receive the signed documents, the sooner we can take this project to bid and begin the reconstruction.
There are still a number of residents and landowners with whom we have not had the opportunity to meet. We understand that the poor weather yesterday may have prevented some from attending, so we are offering another chance to meet next week. These meetings will be the same format as this week's, with individual property owner meetings on a first come, first served basis. We will discuss project impacts and any easement that may be required for construction. If you have not already done so, please stop in to City Hall during the timeframe below for a short conversation with City and Stockwell staff to discuss your impacts.
When: March 26th – 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Where: City Hall – 504 River Drive, North Sioux City, South Dakota
What: Private meetings with landowners to discuss project impacts
If you are still unable to attend during the timeframe provided, please contact Ross Kuchta of Stockwell Engineers at (605) 338-6668 or by email at RKuchta@stockwellengineers.com to schedule an individual meeting. Upon request, accommodations for this meeting will be provided for persons with disabilities. Please contact City Hall during regular business hours at least 48 hours in advance of the meeting.
For those of you who are outside the construction area, but may be impacted by construction detours and traffic, there will be opportunities later to learn more about the project. We are in the process of completing our construction documents. Review of the project by FEMA and the Federal Highway Administration will take until the end of April, so we anticipate a May bid letting with construction beginning in late May or early June.
